Black Oxide balustrade cable systems
Nautical Steel are suppliers of the NEW black coated cables and black swaged fittings using Grade 316 Stainless steel also for our balustrade range.
This black oxide range offers a Matte appearance on the cables compared to the traditional aesthetic shiny look achieved by polished stainless steel. Due to the demand and popularity of the black oxide cable systems, Nautical Steel has introduced this range of fittings and cables in 4mm diameter range. How does it work? Black Oxide is a very thin coating that chemically alters the cables and the stainless steel still retains its excellent corrosion capabilities and which results in this appealing matte finish.

Specialist installation:
Our team has the capability of doing very technical installations and this type of work has to be done carefully and professionally with the correct tools. Installation also has to take place in an environment that is clean and free of oils and other pollutants. We recommend the installation team wear gloves to ensure the minimum abrasion take place on the Oxide coating of the fittings when being handled during installation. The Oxide coating is thin and can be damaged if extra care is not taken when working with this system especially when the cables are being cut and crimped with hydraulic tools.
